An astro heads-up: the Perseids are coming to town! Well, they should already be visible, but they ramp up tonight, and the peak is Thursday night/Friday morning (August 12-13), when astronomers estimate 50-60 meteors will be visible per hour after sunset. My favorites are definitely the Leonids in mid-November, but the Perseids are visible during the warm months, which is always nice. And the best part is, I will be camping with my mom the night after the peak, so we should still be able to see quite a few of these babies!
Happy sighting!
