Catch-up After Camping!

Hey there!

I am a little behind on my brand-spanking-new MWF posting schedule because I am just back from a trip to southern Oregon with the Man, my mom, and her man. It was fantastic, and I didn't want to leave. But here I am, catching up with work and a quick blog post while I have some code running.

The Man said it succinctly in an email to his parents, so I will just lift his wording and throw a few pictures at you:

"Camping was wonderful. One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen on Earth. Butterflies, dragonflies, mountain flowers, 95 deg sunshine, shorts and flip flops at night, 20 ft granite boulders plunging into crystal clear water, visibility 60 feet, water perfect temp, pine forest shrouding the river, waterfalling brooks next to river to drown out sounds of children playing and jumping from rocks, secluded cliff top campsite 50 ft from river and 200 ft from nearest campsite, zero humidity, iron fire pit, big picnic table, thousands of stars at night with the added bonus of the perseid meteor shower. Very few bugs and no nocturnal wildlife attacking our food.... Plus fantastic company and cool mellow locals. Truly a slice of heaven I didn't know Oregon had."
Our campsite...
...overlooked...
...this gorgeous river...
...full of deep, perfectly cold water and little minnows that liked to nibble my feet, and decked on either side with....
...delicate plants and huge boulders.

When we weren't...
...enjoying amazing camp food...
...or swimming in the crystal clear water...
...or cheering on the people jumping off gigantic boulders...
...or half-assing yoga poses on the slippery (but sharp!) rock ledges under the river...
...or playing board games by the glow of the campfire and multiple headlamps,
we were parked on our towels by this beautiful little waterfall at the edge of the river:
Ah! Refrigeration and calming background noise all in one!
It was a fabulous, wonderful, amazing camping trip. I can't wait for the whole family to get together next year!
