Yesterday marked week 1 of cola-free me. No pigs were seen navigating overhead, no local cola vendors went out of business without my habit funding them, date night out at the movies was no less enjoyable. I'm fine. With the exception of a couple of headaches and lower-than-usual energy that I expect to pass soon, I am just dandy.
My cravings so far have not been insurmountable, and I am feeling pretty good about myself, though it has only been a week of will power. I have been waking up a bit earlier the last few days (which probably has at least as much to do with a spot of morning sun lately as anything else). I have not had the very familiar afternoon slump (I said I had lower energy than usual, but it has at least been even throughout the day). I have also not, however, lost any weight. In fact, as of my weigh-in this morning, I am 0.6 lbs heavier than my highest weight in the last month. Hm. How accurate is the gym scale, anyway? I suppose hoping for weight to just fall off in the first week was a little too optimistic. But it sure would help the cause if I could get the tiniest fat-related sign from my body that things were getting better in there... At least the man made me a fun little chip to commemorate the full week without soda. ...And has agreed to join me in a week of daily Bikram's yoga beginning Monday. THAT ought to do it. Or something, at any rate.

Good luck! Can you have iced tea, or are you staying away from all fountain drink-related temptations?
I think it took a month after I did my cleanse before the weight started coming off, but then it all just fell off. I guess your body takes a little time to catch up. Which is a good thing I suppose, that way things don't go drastically wrong when you go the other way and indulge for a little bit.
