Love and Money - The Odd Science of Testosterone

I learned some interesting facts while perusing Science magazine recently...
[Oh, you SO want to know more...]
The Science of Kissing

Among other things, I was interested to find that there is plenty of evidence of testosterone in saliva. Through Science I also learned (more conclusively than through personal experience) that men tend to prefer sloppier kisses. If we recall that sex drive (for both men and women) is mediated by testosterone levels, we have to wonder: did the french kiss evolve as a subconscious attempt to transfer more testosterone to a woman in the hopes of increasing her sex drive...? Well, works for me.

The Loaded Ring Finger
Take a look at your hands. Is your ring finger longer than your index finger? (Mine is.) As it turns out, the length of your ring finger, relative to your index, can tell you something about the hormones to which you were exposed in the womb. If your ring finger is longer, you were exposed to relatively more testosterone than someone whose isn't.
In addition to having a more intense sex drive, people with higher levels of testosterone also tend to take more risks (and have quicker reflexes --- seriously, I have the reflexes of a cat). In a recent study of male financial traders, a group of scientists compared the earning history of those with longer ring fingers to those with longer index fingers. Their results were pretty surprising: men in this group with longer ring fingers made (on average) $1.2M (yowza), which was about SIX TIMES the average earnings of men with longer index fingers.

Take a risk, make a buck. Depending on who you date, you might not need to worry about transferring extra testosterone to land a woman.
